The apartments exist to provide safe and secure accommodation for young people who are often living away from home for the first time. The management have set up a number or rules and guidelines to ensure residents have an enjoyable environment to come home to. Consideration of others is encouraged and their are plenty of opportunities to make friends with the other residents while also respecting the need for peace and quiet. The Church takes an interest in the residents and encourages opportunities for friendships with Church families. Residents are encouraged to become involved in the life and ministries of the Tabernacle.

Various formal and informal social events are held throughout the year including dinners, birthday parties, movie nights and team sports.

The residents of each apartment are responsible for their own day-to-day living arrangements, including cooking and cleaning. It is a great learning environment prior to entering the public flatting arena of Auckland.

Although residents have some choice as to who they share their apartment with, the final decision is made by the Board’s selection panel. Intending residents should have good social skills and the personal attributes of tolerance and an ability to resolve conflict.
